Rochdale’s Historic Town Centre Inspires A Level Creative Work
Creative Arts students used the town’s historic landmarks as the setting for their A level coursework, capturing reflections, architectural details and the dynamic movement of the urban environment. Working on location allowed students to observe their surroundings closely and respond creatively to real-world spaces, developing their visual skills and personal artistic styles.
As part of the project, students also explored the new murals created for the Common Wall International Mural Festival. The large-scale artworks provided a rich source of inspiration, encouraging students to consider colour, scale, symbolism and social context as they developed and refined their own creative ideas.
