MFL Trip To Lancaster University

News - 31 March 2026

MFL Aspire+ students recently visited Lancaster University to explore what it is like to study at a campus university and experience student life. During the visit, they attended sessions on studying Modern Foreign Languages at degree level, including a talk on “Why study languages at university?” and the importance of languages in the world of work.

Students also toured the campus and spoke with current undergraduates, including Lizzie, a French and Linguistics alumna, who shared her experiences of the course and her year abroad. The visit provided valuable insight into university study and the wide-ranging opportunities available through language learning, supporting students in planning their next steps beyond A level.
