Year 13 Students Showcase EPQ Projects at College Poster Fairs
We recently hosted two academic poster fairs showcasing the work of 57 year 13 students who have completed their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). As a key part of the qualification, students confidently presented their research, reflecting on their project journey and sharing insights into their learning.

The EPQ, which begins in year 12, allows students to explore topics beyond their A level studies by developing their own research questions based on personal interests. Topics for projects included: How Have Aerodynamic Developments Influenced Performance Differently In MotoGP and Formula One?, How can studying early universe phase transitions improve our understanding of particle physics?, Can Artificial Intelligence be Used to Mitigate Climate Change and can it be Trusted as a Sustainable Solution?. The poster presentations marked the culmination of their hard work and commitment to investigating complex ideas.
Beyond the final outcome, the EPQ develops valuable skills such as planning, time management, independent research and critical reflection. These skills are highly regarded by universities and employers, with many students drawing on their projects during interviews.
Congratulations to all students who successfully completed their EPQ this year.
