We have had a successful week marking Mental Health Awareness Week, with students and staff coming together to focus on wellbeing, connection and support across college.

A range of activities took place throughout the week, organised by the Student Union and College Ambassadors, giving students the opportunity to pause from their studies, get involved and reflect on the importance of looking after their mental health. The events created space for positive conversations and encouraged students to check in with both themselves and others.

Key activities included “Shed Your Stress”, where students were encouraged to write down things that were causing them stress or worry before ripping them up as a symbolic way of letting go. There was also a cake sale in support of Mind Charity, giving students the chance to donate while taking time to talk and connect with others. Students and staff also took part in Wear It Green Day, helping to raise awareness of mental health and show support for the importance of wellbeing.

The week reflected the college’s continued commitment to supporting student wellbeing and creating an environment where mental health is openly discussed and prioritised.
