Heroica Theatre Company Workshop

Our Drama students were delighted to welcome Angela Cairns from Heroica Theatre Company for an inspiring guest workshop.

Heroica are a working theatre company dedicated to telling the stories of unsung women throughout history through original, often site-specific productions. Angela, who writes for the company under the pseudonym Anna Carlisle, shared her experiences of setting up and running a theatre company, giving students a valuable insight into the creative industry.

Students learned about her process for selecting subject matter, her approach to playwriting, and then took part in an engaging workshop focused on writing and performing monologues. Angela explored techniques for capturing an audience's attention through both writing and performance, helping students develop their own creative skills.

It was a truly inspiring session, and our students gained a great deal from the experience. Thank you, Angela, for sharing your expertise and passion with us!
