As the class of 2021 collect their A level results today, our entire community congratulate them and applaud their commitment and determination to study hard and achieve excellent A level results.

Their experience at RSFC truly has been like no other: adjusting to life at college; lockdown; hybrid learning; and a brief full return to college. Throughout their time at RSFC, we as a college have learnt that RSFC is not the college building itself but the unique and truly outstanding students, staff and parents who, throughout the last two years, have supported each other individually and collectively to deal with the challenges of the pandemic whilst excelling academically.

Our students have forged strong friendships, engaged with their education and achieved excellent results despite the challenging circumstances.

Whilst the pandemic has brought many challenges, RSFC has thrived. This year RSFC was awarded the Sixth-form college of the year in the Tes FE Awards and the Sixth Form College Association, ‘Covid Above and Beyond’ Award; testament to the work undertaken to ensure all our students receive the best possible education to help them achieve the results they have collected today. Our recent accreditation of silver by Investors in People, highlights our commitment to supporting and developing not only our students but our staff.

Richard Ronksley the college principal said: “This has been an incredibly tough year for young people across the country. I can only say how immensely proud I am of the achievements of every single student in the college. They have approached the pandemic with fortitude and been rewarded with a set of fantastic results which recognises their hard work, and talents and will enable them to progress to higher education, higher apprenticeship or high-quality employment.”

Our students have achieved some outstanding results and are going on to a broad range of universities and courses from Medicine and History to Zoology and Spanish.

Ella Pogson (Economics A*, EPQ A*, Geography A*, Mathematics A) secured a place at the London School of Economics (LSE) to read Geography with Economics. Ella commented that ‘whilst I hadn’t studied Economics before coming to RSFC the support I was given and the extended reading and resources gave me a great foundation’.

Sadie Murray (English Literature B, Geography B, Law B). Sadie is in the process of joining the Royal Navy and following a few final assessments she will be starting the training programme.

Paul Jackson (Chemistry A*, EPQ A*, Mathematics A*, Physics A*, Further Mathematics A*) secured at place at St. Andrews University to read Mathematics. Paul commented, ‘I am not sure what my future career will be but I find calculations really satisfying and the course is so versatile, I have many options in the future.’

Congratulations to all our students on their excellent results.
